Do you have hollowed, flattened cheekbones?  Do you look tired or feel older because of sagging facial features and deflated contours?

Juvéderm Voluma XC is the latest hyaluronic acid (HA) facial filler to be approved by the FDA.  According to its manufacturer, Allergan (the same company that makes Botox and Juvéderm), it is “the first and only FDA-approved filler for the midface to correct age-related volume loss.”

MRI’s and 3-D photography have proven that we all lose facial volume and fullness as we age.  This process is more responsible for signs of aging than gravity — and it can be curbed with facial fillers.

Many products have been used in the past to increase volume in the cheeks, including fat, Restylane, Juvéderm, Radiesse and Sculptra. Some of these have proven better than others, but Voluma is the first cross-linked HA to be designed for this area of the face.

Voluma has the advantages of predictability, consistency and durability. Because hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the collagen of human skin, it does not require allergy-testing and does not risk rejection. The cross-linking process renders the product more durable and early studies indicate patient satisfaction up to two years after treatment!
