Relaxation Dentistry

We will help you achieve a healthy smile with sedation dentistry in Maryville, TN.

Anxiety-free dentistry

Many patients let their fear of the dentist stop them from receiving the care their smiles need and deserve. Whatever the source of your anxiety, we have options to help you feel relaxed and at ease throughout your time in our office.

Relaxation dentistry can help with the following:

  • Anxiety due to a bad past dental experience
  • Aversion to the sounds and smells of a dental office
  • Staying comfortable during long procedures
  • Sensitive gag reflex

Finding the right sedation for you

In general, we offer three levels of relaxation dentistry. During your consultation, Dr. Lindahl will let you know which level he believes will be best for your needs.

Creature comforts and kind staff:

Our office is equipped with creature comforts, such as light-blocking glasses, chapstick, headphones, and blankets to keep every patient comfortable. Our doctor and staff also take extra time to talk with our more nervous patients and explain everything they are doing.

Nitrous oxide:

We have nitrous oxide (laughing gas) available to help put you in a calm, relaxed state. You breathe nitrous oxide through your nose during the treatment. It is entirely safe and well tolerated by most patients.

Prescribed medication:

If you have a more intense dental phobia or anxiety, we can prescribe you an over-the-counter sedative to take just before your appointment. The first step is for you to make an appointment with our team, so we can best assess your needs!
